When the medium is in operation, the valve float stops the seat underneath for a large amount of air venting; When the air is vented, the medium enters the valve, the float rises to seat, the valve will be closed, and then venting is stopped. The pipeline will naturally produce a small amount of air during operation, and these air will gather in the upper part of the pipe, once the air reach to a certain amount, the water level in the valve will fall, the float will fall along the water and leave seat, then the air will be discharged from the small hole
Usually the size of the air valve is the main pipe is from one-twelf to one-six of the size of main pipe
The air valve is easy to leakage when the medium pressure in pipe is too low. A valve must be prepared for maintenance
