Valves supplied by TVD for the Nanjing Jianning Road Yangtze River Tunnel project have been successively delivered.
As another river-crossing passage in Nanjing, the Jianning Road Yangtze River Tunnel was officially opened to traffic on August 20, 2026. Constructed as a twin-bore, six-lane super-large diameter shield tunnel, it reaches a maximum buried depth of approximately 55 meters under the river bed. Connecting Jiangbei New Area with the northern part of Nanjing’s main urban area, the tunnel effectively diverts traffic from the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge after opening, forming a 15-minute cross-river commuting circle.
Large river-crossing tunnels serve as underground arteries for vehicle traffic. The supporting utility tunnel houses water supply, power, communication and other pipelines in a centralized layout for unified management and maintenance, acting as a vital carrier of the city’s underground ""lifeline"". TVD’s proof pipe explosion protection valves are installed at the tunnel entrances and exits. In case of pipeline incidents, they can minimize water leakage to protect the safety of vehicles and personnel.
